Africa Center for Project Management (ACPM) in partnership with SCIM Institute, Netherlands are pleased to announce a Diploma in Child Development . The course is offered through Distance Learning Course. The course starts from 4th May 2016 to 4th October 2016.
Course Overview
WHO IS THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT COURSE FOR?
This Course is designed for anyone who is interested in reflecting and acting on current principles of good practice in child development.
It is prepared for anyone who works with children:
- directly in programmes
- indirectly in a management role
- in communities that have children
- in institutions for children
- in monitoring and evaluating programmes that involve children.
It is hoped that programme managers will use it with their teams and discuss how the programme can learn and move forward.
The Course provides a tool for learning and reflection suitable for people who are in the formative stages of setting up a programme, identifying good practice that will help to create a balanced programme.
It can also be used by those who are already involved in a child-related programme, from small, local projects to large, national programmes.
The following issues will be dealt with in the Child Development Course:
Module 1. Children and Family Breakdown
Module 2. Children and Community Child Health
Module 3. Children and Disability
Module 4. Children and Sexual Abuse/Exploitation
Module 5. Children in Residential Care
Module 6. Children affected by Conflict/War
Module 8. Child Participation
This course is designed specifically for development organizations.
Course Organizers: Africa Center for Project Management (ACPM) was established in 2004 in Amsterdam with the Africa regional offices in Nairobi. The organization was formed to address capacity building needs among development and corporate organizations in Africa and Asia by offering Online Diplomas and In-House trainings. The organization has over ten years experience working with development partners in capacity building in. We have trained over 5000 development Professionals in various thematic areas.
Exercises:
After they have read the material for each unit, students are expected
to test their own Learning by completing some relevant exercises and
tasks.
Assignments:
There are ten assignments (continuous assessment tests) and one examination to be offered at the endof the course. Assignments and Continuous Assessment Tests account for 70% while Examination accounts for 30% of the mark. Upon completion of the course you shall be issued with a Diploma Certificate and a course transcript.
